The results are based on a combination of academic quality, reputation, global engagement, and institutional strength, not solely on research volume.

Philippine Higher Education Landscape

The 2026 list presents a familiar and evolving picture of Philippine higher education. The traditional national leaders maintain their positions, but the emergence of strong performers from the regions suggests a more competitive and geographically diverse higher education landscape.

With 35 Philippine institutions now included in the QS Asia table, the country’s university sector is gaining increased visibility and attention across the region.
