Every examinee Silliman University Medical School sent to the October 2026 Physician Licensure Examination passed — 37 out of 37 — according to results from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The perfect showing puts the Dumaguete City school on PRC's roster of top-performing schools, in the bracket for schools with 25 to 49 examinees that scored 100 percent. Nine schools made that list, which PRC compiles under Commission Resolution No. 1814, Series of 2024:

  • Angeles University Foundation, 48 examinees
  • Ateneo de Zamboanga University, 41
  • Bicol University–Legazpi, 37
  • Metropolitan Medical Center College of Arts, Science and Technology, 25
  • Pines City College, 28
  • Silliman University, 37
  • University of Cebu College of Medicine Foundation–Mandaue, 49
  • University of Southern Mindanao–Kabacan, 32
  • Western Mindanao State University–Zamboanga City, 25

PRC's school-by-school breakdown shows Silliman's 37 examinees were 31 first-time takers and six repeaters. None failed.

4,165 pass nationwide

Across the country, 4,165 of the 4,447 who took the test passed, a rate of 93.66 percent. Two results were withheld: one while PRC determines the examinee's liabilities under licensure rules, the other until required documents are submitted.

The Board of Medicine held the exam over two weekends, October 3–4 and 10–11, in 14 locations: Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga. PRC released the results on Thursday, October 15, four working days after the final day of testing.

Topping the exam was Maxine Francesco Gwyneth Cena Baculo of the University of Santo Tomas, who scored 95.50 percent.

Big schools with perfect marks

Among schools with 100 or more examinees, five passed everyone they sent: the University of Santo Tomas (312), the University of the Philippines Manila (174), the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (161), the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (136) and West Visayas State University–La Paz (100).

Not Silliman's first

The university says its medical school has done this before: its pioneer batch sat the physician board in 2010, and every one of them passed.

The medical school's partner hospital is Silliman University Medical Center.

The new passers can register with PRC and take their oath once the commission sets a schedule. PRC said online registration for the professional ID and certificate of registration starts December 1, 2026.
