Two cadets from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) traveled to Cheongju, South Korea, to take part in the 14th Republic of Korea Air Force Academy (ROKAFA) International Cadet Week 2026, held from October 19 to 24, 2026, alongside delegates from 19 countries.
PMA Delegation Members
The PMA Public Affairs Office identified the two cadets as Aerocadet First Class John Raven G. Dela Peña and Aerocadet First Class Aldrin Jay G. Hussin. Lieutenant Colonel Edson Carlo M. Tadea PAF(GSC), Head of the PMA Department of Air Warfare, accompanied them as escort officer.
Officer Development Curriculum Shared at Leadership Forum
At the International Cadets' Leadership Discussion Forum, the Philippine delegation presented the PMA's officer development curriculum to military cadets from the other participating nations. According to the PMA Public Affairs Office, the forum served as a venue for sharing perspectives on adaptive military leadership across the 19 delegations.
Facility Tours, Fighter Group Visit, and Air Show
The Philippine delegation also toured ROKAFA's training facilities and made a visit to the 29th Fighter Group. As part of the week's scheduled activities, the cadets attended the 2026 Sacheon Air Show, the PMA said.
Participation Tied to AFP Security Cooperation Engagement
The PMA Public Affairs Office stated that the cadets' involvement in the event is consistent with the Academy's objective of exposing its members to international military education environments. The activity likewise supports the Armed Forces of the Philippines' Security Cooperation Engagement activities with partner nations.
ROKAFA Expected at PMA-Hosted Conference in November
According to the PMA, ROKAFA is among the foreign military academies slated to attend the International Cadet Conference that the PMA will host in November 2026, making the current exchange a reciprocal engagement between the two academies.
