The Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) arrested 15 drug suspects and confiscated ₱1.3 million worth of illegal drugs during a 24-hour enforcement period from April 21-22, 2026, as part of its sustained anti-criminality campaign across Central Visayas.
The comprehensive operation, covering 6:00 AM of April 21 to 6:00 AM of April 22, involved 14 separate anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of one High-Value Individual (HVI) and 14 newly identified drug personalities throughout the region.
Authorities seized a total of 192.07 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱1,306,076.00, marking a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
Cebu City Records Largest Drug Haul
The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) accounted for the largest confiscation during the operation, seizing 135.30 grams of shabu valued at ₱920,040.00. This substantial haul represents approximately 70% of the total drugs confiscated during the 24-hour period.
The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) recorded the second-largest seizure with 53.62 grams of illegal drugs worth ₱364,616.00. Meanwhile, the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) contributed to the operation by confiscating ₱21,420.00 worth of illegal substances.
The coordinated nature of these operations across multiple jurisdictions demonstrates the regional police force's systematic approach to combating drug trafficking throughout Central Visayas.
Regional Director Commends Enforcement Teams
Acting PRO7 Regional Director PBGEN Arnold E. Abad praised the operating units for their dedication and reaffirmed the organization's unwavering commitment to public safety across the region.
"Our intensified anti-criminality operations in Region 7 continue to deliver concrete results, making our communities safer and more secure. Guided by the Chief PNP's mantra, 'Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,' we will remain aggressive and unwavering in our fight against illegal drugs and all forms of criminality," Abad stated.
The regional director emphasized that successful drug enforcement requires more than police action alone, calling for comprehensive community involvement in addressing the drug problem.
Community Partnership Essential for Success
Abad stressed that the campaign against illegal drugs extends beyond law enforcement activities and requires active participation from all sectors of society. The regional director specifically called upon various community stakeholders to join the anti-drug effort.
"We call on all Cebuanos—parents, educators, business leaders, and especially the youth—to stand with us in protecting the future of our young people. Through active participation, vigilance, and timely reporting of illegal activities, we can collectively break the cycle of drug abuse and secure a safer, brighter future for Cebu," he added.
This community-centered approach reflects the Philippine National Police's recognition that sustainable solutions to drug trafficking require broad-based social support and cooperation.
Intelligence-Driven Operations Strategy
The successful operations align with the Philippine National Police's strategic focus on enhancing the management of police operations through intelligence-driven methodologies. This approach ensures that enforcement activities remain responsive to emerging threats and community needs.
PRO7's operational framework emphasizes intelligence gathering, community orientation, and rapid response capabilities to maximize the effectiveness of anti-drug operations across the region.
The 14 operations conducted within the 24-hour period demonstrate the police force's capacity to coordinate multiple simultaneous enforcement activities while maintaining operational security and effectiveness.
Standard Drug Pricing and Market Impact
The ₱1.3 million worth of confiscated drugs represents a significant disruption to the illegal drug supply chain in Central Visayas. The Standard Drug Price (SDP) valuation system provides consistent metrics for assessing the impact of drug seizures on local trafficking networks.
With shabu typically sold in smaller quantities to end users, the 192.07 grams seized would have supplied hundreds of individual transactions, potentially affecting numerous families and communities throughout the region.
The concentration of seizures in Cebu City and Bohol province indicates these areas remain significant transit points and distribution centers for illegal drugs in Central Visayas.
Sustained Enforcement Campaign
PRO7 assured the public of its continued commitment to maintaining intensified law enforcement operations as part of an ongoing strategy to combat drug trafficking and related criminal activities.
The police force strongly encourages active community participation in reporting illegal activities, emphasizing that citizen cooperation reinforces law enforcement efforts and creates a united front toward achieving a drug-free Central Visayas.
Regional authorities continue to monitor drug trafficking patterns and adjust enforcement strategies based on intelligence reports and community feedback to maintain pressure on criminal networks.
The successful 24-hour operation demonstrates PRO7's operational readiness and commitment to the "Bagong PNP sa Bagong Pilipinas" initiative, which emphasizes reformed and responsive policing practices.
As the campaign continues, PRO7 maintains its focus on dismantling drug trafficking organizations while building stronger partnerships with communities throughout Central Visayas to create lasting solutions to the illegal drug problem.
