Cebu Earthquake: Magnitude 3.7 Tremor Felt in Bogo City
A magnitude 3.7 earthquake shook the area near Bogo City, Cebu, at 6:32 AM Philippine Standard Time on March 18, 2026, according to PHIVOLCS-DOST.
The earthquake's epicenter was located approximately 2 kilometers southwest of Bogo City (11.03°N, 123.97°E). The quake originated at a depth of 7 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt in Bogo City and nearby areas in northern Cebu.
PHIVOLCS-DOST reports that no damage is expected from the earthquake. However, aftershocks are possible.
In the same area, PHIVOLCS-DOST also detected two related seismic events:
- A magnitude 2.2 earthquake at 8:14 AM, 10 kilometers southeast of Bogo City, at a depth of 1 kilometer.
- A magnitude 2.0 earthquake at 5:02 AM, 13 kilometers northeast of Bogo City, at a depth of 34 kilometers.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain calm and take precautionary measures in case of aftershocks.
