BORACAY, Malay, Aklan — About 3,000 guests arrived in Boracay on October 26, 2026, as the cruise ship Costa Serena made its first-ever call to the island, according to the Malay-Boracay Tourism Office.

It was Boracay's first cruise ship visit this October. The tourism office said three more cruise ship arrivals are expected before the year ends.

Officials and tourism stakeholders marked the maiden call with a plaque exchange ceremony on board the ship.

Jery Mae Fernando, Tourism Operations Officer I, represented Malay Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista, while Kimberly Pineda, Tourist Operations Assistant, represented Chief Tourism Operations Officer Dr. Felix G. Delos Santos Jr.

The Provincial Government of Aklan, headed by Governor Jose Enrique "Joen" Miraflores, was represented by Nieven Maquirang, Assistant Executive to the Governor. Gabriel Cahilig represented the Department of Tourism Region VI, headed by Regional Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez, and Engr. Jerry Abello represented the Philippine Ports Authority.

According to the tourism office, the visit underscores how cruise tourism continues to bring international visitors to Boracay, and the cooperation among government agencies and industry partners in welcoming cruise passengers.

In a separate welcome post on its page, the tourism office greeted the ship: "Welcome to paradise, where the crystal-clear waters and beautiful beaches of Boracay await you!"
